Surgery Minimizes Neurological Problems in Spinal TB

In selected patients, early operative treatment with instrumentation for spinal tuberculosis minimizes neurological deterioration and spinal deformity, according to a report from the New York University Medical Center.

The resurgence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the United States has been paralleled by a concomitant rise in tuberculosis of the spine, also known as Pott's disease.
