TB in Children Still Difficult To Spot

Pediatric tuberculosis (TB) remains difficult to diagnose despite heightened awareness of its incidence, according to a report from the Cape Province of South Africa.

In this study researcher Hendrik S. Schaaf and colleagues review their experience with a group of 258 young children suspected of having TB ("Respiratory TB in Childhood: The Diagnostic Value of Clinical Features and Special Investigations," Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal, March 3, 1995;14(3):189-194).
