County Seeks To Quarantine Physician with TB

A hearing was scheduled on a petition by the Ozaukee County Public Health Department to forcibly quarantine a physician it says has tuberculosis (TB) but has refused to follow an order to quarantine himself.

The department asked Ozaukee County Circuit Judge Walter Swietlik to issue the order concerning the physician, who lives in Mequon, Wisconsin, and practices on Milwaukee's west side.

The man's wife said her husband has not left their house since he found out he had the disease. The physician's daughter said her father reported he had caught TB from a patient.
