"Miliary Tuberculosis (MTB): The Diagnostic Accuracy of Chest Radiography."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 1995 International Conference of the American Thoracic Society, held May 20-24, 1995, in Seattle, Washington, "The diagnosis of MTB is usually made based on characteristic x-ray appearances. We were interested in evaluating the ability to correctly identify such appearances. All cases of tuberculosis diagnosed in the province of B.C., Canada, between January 1984 and June 1993 were reviewed and 73 cases of proven MTB were identified. Forty-four normal controls, and 20 patients with localized pulmonary tuberculosis were also included in the study. The radiographs were reviewed in random order by three independent blinded chest...
