"Skin Testing of Ethiopian Immigrants with PPD 5TU and 2TU."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 47th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, held July 16-20, 1995, in Anaheim, California, "Israel has screened several thousand immigrants from Ethiopia since 1991 by skin testing, usually with 2TU but often with 5TU, and chest X-ray . Tuberculin RT-23 (State Serum Institute, Denmark) was used. To determine the significance of the lack of uniformity in the material used, we retested 214 adults (>18), with 5TU in April, and 158 others with 2TU in July 1994. Seventy-seven were tested sequentially with both 5TU in April and 2TU in July. Comparing 1991 to 1994, 53.9% (n=63) were positive (>10mm.)...
