Missed TB Opportunities Frequent Among Poor

Opportunities within the public health system for tuberculosis prevention among the poor and disenfranchised have repeatedly been missed, according to a report from Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia.

The report found that correctional facilities are an often neglected optimal location to administer preventive chemotherapy.

The Emory report was presented by researcher N.N. Bock and colleagues at The Lancet Conference 1995, "The Challenge of Tuberculosis," held September 14 and 15 in Washington D.C.
