According to the authors' abstract of an article published in AIDS, "Objective: To evaluate the risk of developing tuberculosis or other AIDS-related diseases (ARD) in HIV-infected patients treated with corticosteroids as adjunctive therapy for Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP). Design: Retrospective study. Setting: Infectious Disease Service of a 1000-bed university teaching hospital in Barcelona, Spain. Patients: HIV-infected patients diagnosed with PCP from 1985 to 1992.
