"Comparison of HIV-1 Viral Load Between HIV Infected Patients with and without Tuberculosis."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 3rd Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections, held January 28 - February 1, 1996, in Washington, DC, "Objectives: To compare HIV-1 RNA viral load in subjects with and without confirmed pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods: Ten HIV-1 seropositive cases of confirmed (smear and culture positive) pulmonary TB were pair-matched (patient age ± 10 years; CD4 ± 100 cells; and patient gender) to ten HIV-1 seropositive controls from two placebo arms of a TB preventive therapy trial currently underway in Kampala, Uganda.
