"Increased Mortality in Retrovirus Infected Patients with Tuberculosis in Bahia."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 3rd Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections, held January 28 - February 1, 1996, in Washington, DC, "Introduction: HIV is considered the most important risk factor associated with the development of tuberculosis (TB). The Human T-cell Lymphotropic Virus Type I (HTLV) has also been associated with clinical conditions found in the tropics. Bahia a northeastern Brazilian state is an endemic area for HTLV-1.
