Standard treatment regimens for drug susceptible TB, such as administration of isoniazid/rifampin/pyrazinamide for two months and then isoniazid/rifampin for four months, yield cure rates of more than 95 percent. Even when patients are resistant to isoniazid, a cure rate of more than 90 percent is achievable with the addition of ethambutol or streptomycin to the regimen.
