TB Increasing Rapidly in Sub-Saharan Africa

Tuberculosis cases have increased rapidly throughout sub-Saharan Africa since 1985, according to a report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) Division of TB Elimination.

Researcher M.F. Cantwell and N.J. Binkin suggest that the commitment of additional funds to improve the quality of national tuberculosis programs in sub-Saharan Africa could have a dramatic impact on TB mortality in the region.
