According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 11th International Conference on AIDS, held July 7-12, 1996, in Vancouver, British Columbia, "Introduction: Recent studies have demonstrated a shift in the downward trend of tuberculosis mortality in younger USA adults after 1986, specially in the same age groups where AIDS was more incident.
