A U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study found that 1.5 percent of TB cases reported in New York City between 1993 and 1994 were mono-rifampin resistant.
The study was outlined in a poster presentation at the 36th Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology's Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC), held September 15-18, 1996 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
