Aggressive Control Can Dramatically Reduce Pediatric TB

Aggressive tuberculosis control measures, including directly observed therapy, can dramatically impact the spread of pediatric disease, even in the most impoverished areas of the United States, according to a report from the Bronx, New York.

This finding was reported by researcher Joanna Dobroszycki and colleagues from the Bronx Lebanon Hospital and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at the 36th meeting of the American Society for Microbiology's Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, held September 15-18, 1996 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
