According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 1996 meeting of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc., held June 2-5, 1996, "On June 16, 1995, Infection Control staff was notified of a resident with a skin test conversion on his annual purified protein derivative (PPD) test for TB. The patient (patient A) a resident of the 375-bed extended care facility had had previous negative skin test results, which now was recorded as being 30 mm of induration.
