Rapid Culture Confirmation Test for TB Developed

ID Biomedical Corp. (IDB), Vancouver, British Columbia, announced that it has been developing a rapid culture confirmation test for tuberculosis (TB) in collaboration with Dr. Kathy Eisenach, University of Arkansas.

The TB test uses IDB's proprietary DNA-based diagnostic system, Cycling Probe Technology (CPT). IDB has also been developing CPT-based culture confirmation tests for two antibiotic resistant bacteria, MRSA and VRE. The TB test uses the same commercial format that has been developed by IDB for the MRSA and VRE tests.
