Appropriate Use of Rapid Tests for Tuberculosis

Direct application tests (DAT) at present add to, but do not replace, existing diagnostic measures that assist in TB treatment and control.

Participants at an American Thoracic Society (ATS) workshop on rapid diagnostic tests for tuberculosis (TB) commented that "judicious use [of the DAT] can expedite TB control activities in certain circumstances."
