Effectiveness of Strategies to Promote Treatment Adherence

Many patients with tuberculosis do not complete their treatment, leading to their needless suffering and death.

In the November 29, 1997, issue of the British Medical Journal, Drs. Jimmy Volmink and Paul Garner wrote about their work to determine which strategies to promote compliance are effective ("Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials of Strategies to Promote Adherence to Tuberculosis Treatment," BMJ, 1997;315:1407).
