Ethambutol Reduces Clarithromycin Resistance in MAC

Ethambutol reduce relapses and the emergence of clarithromycin resistance in AIDS patients with Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC), according to a report from the University of California.

"(Our) study establishes the role of ethambutol in improving therapy for MAC bacteremia by reducing relapses, emergence of clarithromycin resistance, and febrile morbidity," researcher Michael P.
