According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the Sixth European Conference on Clinical Aspects and Treatment of HIV Infection, held October 11-15, 1997, in Hamburg, Germany, "Background: TB represents one of the most common complications of HIV infection which affects 48% of the patients suffering from AIDS in our health community. Despite the large scope of the problem in our area, a number of factors such as the Fulfillment of treatment and its side effects have limited the use of universal TB prophylaxis.
