Adenovirus Pneumonia Reported in Rhode Island Mental Health Center

Rhode Island researchers report an outbreak of adenovirus pneumonia among immunocompetent adult residents of a mental health facility.

Eighteen cases of pneumonia developed during the outbreak of adenovirus infection in a chronic psychiatric care facility, and four cases developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and septic shock.
