LCx M. tuberculosis Assay is Quick and Effective

A ligase chain reaction Mycobacterium tuberculosis assay developed by Abbott Laboratories is a quick and effective diagnostic method for extrapulmonary tuberculosis, according to a report from Spain.

"Our data indicate that the ligase chain reaction M. tuberculosis Assay provides the clinician, laboratory technician, and infection control practitioner with very valuable, rapid, and clinically relevant information for the diagnosis and control of extrapulmonary TB," researcher Fredy Gamboa and colleagues wrote ("Rapid Diagnosis of Extrapulmonary Tuberculosis by Ligase Chain Reaction Amplification," Journal of Clinical Microbiology, May...
