"Changing Trends In Tuberculosis Demographics In Tennessee, 1990-1996."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the American Thoracic Society, 1998 International Conference, held April 25-29, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois, "Statistical analysis was conducted on the epidemiologic data of all TB cases reported in Tennessee for the period 1990- 1996. Variables such as age, sex, race, site of disease and certain high risk factors, i.e., HIV positive status, homelessness, alcoholism, residence in a chronic care facility, were examined. Of the 3742 reported cases, 2391 were male; 1351 were female. During the study period the incidence of TB declined from 11.8 per 100,000 in 1990 to 10.0 in 1996.
