"Comparison of Mycobacterium Growth Indicator Tube Method and Method of Proportion for Drug Susceptibility of Mycobacterium tuberculosis."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 38th Annual Conference on Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention, held March 18-21, 1998, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, "The reliability of Mycobacterium growth indicator tubes (MGIT) for testing susceptibility of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to isoniazid (INH), rifampin (RIF), streptomycin (SM) and ethambutol (EMB) was evaluated by comparing MGIT results to those obtained by the method of proportion (MOP), considered as reference method.
