BACTEC MGIT 960 Recovery System Examined

Researchers from New York University report on a multicenter study of the BACTEC MGIT 960 Mycobacterium tuberculosis recovery system.

Researcher B.A. Hanna and colleagues evaluated the system, which is a fully automated, noninvasive system for the growth and detection of mycobacteria with a capacity to incubate and continuously monitor 960 7-ml culture tubes ("Multicenter Evaluation of the BACTEC MGIT 960 System for Recovery of Mycobacteria," Journal of Clinical Microbiology, March 1999;37(3):748-752).
