TB Presenting as Respiratory Failure Examined

A Korean study used radiologic evaluation to shed light on tuberculosis presenting as acute respiratory failure.

Researcher D. Choi and colleagues from Seoul's Sungkyunkawan University evaluated patients who had newly diagnosed active pulmonary tuberculosis and who presented with acute respiratory failure ("Pulmonary Tuberculosis Presenting as Acute Respiratory Failure: Radiologic Findings," Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, January-February 1999;23(1):107-113).

Initial chest radiographic (n = 17) and high-resolution CT (n = 11) findings of each patient were analyzed retrospectively.
