Hemodialysis Doesn't Affect TB Treatment

Hemodialysis has little effect on the efficacy of first line tuberculosis agents, according to a report from Colorado's National Jewish Medical and Research Center.

This study examined hemodialysis clearances of isoniazid (INH), rifampin (RIF), pyrazinamide (PZA), and ethambutol (EMB) ("The Effect of Hemodialysis on Isoniazid, Rifampin, Pyrazinamide, and Ethambutol," American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, May 1999;159(5):1580-1584).
