Virus Confirmed in Two Crows in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania's secretary of health Robert S. Zimmerman, Jr., confirmed the West Nile virus infection has been found in two crows in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Previously, all tests for West Nile virus in Pennsylvania had been negative. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Wildlife Health Center in Madison, Wisconsin, verified the presence of West Nile virus in two dead crows - one from Levittown, Bucks County, collected September 8, 2000, and the second from Wayne, Chester County, collected September 13, 2000.
