Screening Can Accurately Predict Which Children Should Get Skin Test

In response to an American Academy of Pediatrics directive to test only children at risk for TB instead of applying the TST universally, H. Froehlich and associates gauged the usefulness of a nine-question survey of parents for predicting whether a child should be tested.

Froehlich and team administered the questionnaire to parents of 31,926 Kaiser Permanente patients, due to receive routine TST, from 18 pediatric offices in northern California. They...
