Antibiotic Use May Be Increasing Refractory Baltimore Infections

Bernadette A. Albanese and colleagues at Johns Hopkins University and the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in Baltimore, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, and the University of Pittsburgh "examined the epidemiology of invasive penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae (PRSP) infections among residents of the Baltimore metropolitan area from 1995 through 1997."
