DynCorp enters phase I smallpox vaccine clinical trial

DynPort Vaccine Company LLC (DVC), a joint venture between DynCorp of Reston, Virginia, and Porton International, Inc., announced that it will enter into a large phase I clinical trial consisting of approximately 150 volunteers for a new smallpox vaccine.

DVC's trial is the largest study conducted to date that compares a smallpox vaccine, developed through state-of-the-art large-scale cell culture technology, to the previously licensed vaccine (Dryvax), which is currently in limited supply.
