"The TrcRS two-component system of Mycobacterium tuberculosis is comprised of the TrcS histidine kinase and the TrcR response regulator, which is homologous to the OmpR class of DNA binding response regulators," explained Dr. Shelley E. Haydel and colleagues at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
The TrcR response regulator is capable of regulating its own expression, with help from the trcR promoter, Haydel and coauthors found.
