Novel munumbicin antibiotics show broad-spectrum activity

"Munumbicins A, B, C and D are newly described antibiotics with a wide spectrum of activity against many human as well as plant pathogenic fungi and bacteria, and a Plasmodium sp.," explained Uvidelio F. Castillo and colleagues working at Montana State University in Bozeman, Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, Harvard Medical School in Boston, the University of Washington in Seattle, and Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Boise, Idaho.
