Population migration is an important consideration in mass drug administration

Results of an experimental intervention project on control of lymphatic filariasis in an endemic community in southern India prompted medical entomologists to recommend rescheduling the annual mass drug administration from July-August to January.

This was because more inhabitants were available for treatment in January, the peak of the region's agricultural season.
