$2M in biodefense contract awarded by DARPA

Analex Corporation (NLX) has announced that its Advanced Biosystems, Inc., subsidiary has been awarded approximately $2 million in additional funding by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

This 10-month contract builds upon medical biodefense research previously funded by DARPA, and initiates the development of additional capabilities and techniques for use in creating and evaluating surrogate lung tissues and their suitability as tools in the study of infection. Other members of Advanced Biosystems' team include George Mason University, Sciperio, Inc., and Structural Bioinformatics, Inc.
