Treatment through "TB clubs" effective in Ethiopia

"TB clubs" can improve the outcome of tuberculosis therapy for patients in Ethiopia and other developing areas.

"Non-compliance is a major problem in the treatment of tuberculosis," researchers in Norway explained.

To help find a solution to this problem, M. Demissie and coauthors working at the University of Bergen's Centre for International Health examined "the effectiveness of 'TB clubs' in improving compliance with TB treatment and their impact in improving societal attitudes associated with TB."

This study "utilized both quantitative (cohort study) and qualitative (focus group discussion and an in-depth interview) methods,"...
