Candiate lipoprotein actually triggers counterproductive response

"Th1 immune response is essential in the protection against mycobacterial intracellular pathogens," explained Avi-Hai Hovav and colleagues at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the Instituto de Biotecnologia in Castelar, Argentina. "Lipoproteins trigger both humoral and cellular immune responses and may be candidate protective antigens."
