Magnesium levels significantly reduced in patients

Magnesium levels drop significantly during toxoplasmosis.

Scientists in Turkey conducted a study to "investigate the effects of Toxoplasma gondii infection on the total content of the essential elements Zn [zinc] and Mg [magnesium] levels."

"Plasma zinc and magnesium concentrations were measured in 158 patients whose anti-T. gondii IgG antibodies were positive," and "scores were obtained for the patients and their age- and sex-matched 82 seronegative healthy controls," according to S. Yazar and colleagues at Erciyes University in Kayseri.
