"Gastroenteritis outbreaks linked to shellfish consumption are numerous and Norwalk-like viruses (NLVs) are frequently the responsible causative agents," scientists in France explained. "However, molecular data linking shellfish and clinical samples are still rare despite the availability of diagnostic methods."
