Early research advances field of proteasome biology

Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., (MLNM) and collaborators released findings that implicate the proteasome pathway in tuberculosis and extend the understanding of the pathway in stroke, advancing the field of proteasome biology.

"Some of the most advanced medical research today involves understanding the pathways of disease, and we strongly believe that the proteasome pathway plays a role in a number of critical diseases," said Robert I. Tepper, MD, president of research and development at Millennium. "This research provides avenues of interest that may lead to new treatment strategies for infectious disease as well as damaging vascular inflammation."
