PCR analysis can aid Aspergillus niger endocarditis diagnosis in AML patients

PCR analysis can facilitate the diagnosis of Aspergillus-related complications during leukemia.

According to published research from Wales, "Endocarditis secondary to Aspergillus niger has not been described in a leukemic patient."

D. McCracken and coauthors at the University of Wales Hospital described "a case of A. niger endocarditis in a patient with acute myeloid leukemia and refractory fever."
