Residual life of bendiocarb determined

The residual life of bendiocarb has been determined.

The persistence of this insecticide was "evaluated under field conditions in southern Mozambique," scientists in South Africa explained.

"Bioassays conducted at monthly intervals using susceptible Anopheles arabiensis demonstrated that bendiocarb had an effective residual life of 6 months," reported R. Maharaj and coauthors at the Medical Research Council in Durban. "The different types of surfaces sprayed did not affect the residual life of bendiocarb."
