Pediatric nutrition company lists steps to keep families well during flu season

Due to the flu vaccine shortage, parents are searching for answers on how to keep their children healthy during this flu season, according to information from Abbott's Ross Products Division.

While the nation is focused on the flu, many parents confuse the term "flu" with the diarrhea and vomiting due to rotavirus infection. The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza virus that causes symptoms such as a high fever, headache, dry cough and sore throat. Children with the flu are more prone to dehydration if fluid intake is poor.
