Quantitative PCR to monitor adenovirus infection following transplantation is useful for fatal disease prevention.

According to published research from Germany, "Adenoviral (AdV) infections after transplantation remain a challenge in pediatric patients. Qualitative and quantitative PCR offer new approaches to early diagnosis and monitoring.
