Targeted screening strategies for pulmonary tuberculosis in prisons are unreliable.

In a recently published study, investigators in Brazil determined "the prevalence of active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and assessed the performance of several screening strategies in a prison (1171 male inmates) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil."
