The DOTS program improves tuberculosis treatment outcomes and service coverage in South Ethiopia.

According to a recent report from Norway, "DOTS as a strategy was introduced to the tuberculosis control program in Southern region of Ethiopia in 1996. The impact of the program on treatment outcomes and the trend in the service coverage for tuberculosis has not been assessed ever since."
