Study 1: HLA phenotypes and HIV-1 gene polymorphisms have been characterized in perinatally-infected, young adult long-term survivors.
According to recently published research from the United States, "There are limited data concerning determinants of varying clinical progression rates in human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1)-infected children.
