Natural killer/T-cell lymphoma 'nasal type' is rare in the Italian population and carries a poor prognosis.

In a recently published article, scientists in Italy conducted a study to "evaluate the clinical characteristics and outcome of NK/T-cell lymphoma 'nasal type' developed in Italian patients. Between 1997 and 2004, 26 new cases of NK/T-cell lymphoma 'nasal type' were diagnosed in 10 Italian Hematology institutions.
