Some traditional healers in South Africa have poor knowledge and report unsafe practices for the prevention and care of HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections and tuberculosis. According to a recent report from South Africa, "The aim of this study was investigate the HIV/AIDS/STI and TB knowledge, beliefs and practices of traditional healers in South Africa. In a cross-sectional study 233 traditional healers were interviewed in three selected communities in KwaZulu-Natal."
