New plague therapy study findings have been reported by scientists at Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology

Researchers detail in "Genome-wide transcriptional response of Yersinia pestis to stressful conditions simulating phagolysosomal environments," new data in plague. According to recent research published in the journal Microbes and Infection, "Yersinia pestis is a Gram-negative coccobacillus causing the dangerous disease, plague. Survival of Y. pestis within host macrophages is important in the initial stages of infection.
